Whenever I attempt to replace mine, it doesn't
work. Anybody else having the same problem?
I've tried using G5/OS X/IE and also PC/Mozilla.

Darren...it does that for some reason...takes a few times on logging in before the new avatar shows up.

I had a similar problem some time ago, when the custom image I was trying to upload wasn't the exact size required for the avatar. It doesn't warn you that it won't update. I think it's a bit fussy about some image formats/file sizes too.

Dodgy bloody code... my (new Avid) avatar displays

I think you just have to run Disk Cleanup to get new ones to show up. I think it keeps the same file name/URL as your old one, and the pics don't refresh. So, your computer has no idea it's been changed... theoretically, if you never cleaned out your cookies, you could change your avatar 50 times and come back to the board every day for a year and it would still display your original avatar.

Good advice, but I find muttering a thousand
black curses against everything Microsoft
stands for, and then a swift boot to the side
of the computer, works just as fine. In fact,
once I've saved enough money for a new Mac,
there's a Wicker Man-style burning of my PCs
out in our back garden.
You think I'm joking...?
Haha.
